| 2006 Hunting Season |
Week 1
Hunting season started on October 21st. It was a great week for hunting. No big bucks were sighted yet, but Jimmy took a nice doe for the freezer.
Week 2
Week two was a very productive week with Jimmy taking another nice doe for the freezer and Jerry taking a doe for the freezer. The highlight of the week was Phil's big eight pointer. Phil said the buck was hot after a doe on a chilly 28 degree morning when he was able to get him. This leads me to think that rut is very near. Congratulations Phil and welcome to the Eight Point Club.
Week 3
Everyone is seeing deer but waiting for the big one. No deer was taken this week.
Week 4
Thanksgiving: The deer will have to make way for Turkey and ham for a couple of days. The bucks are in full rut and there are scrapes and rubs everywhere. A 10 or or 11 pt (according to Bob and Jerry) was harvested right on the property line. That's all I can say about that!
Week 5
First week in December . The weather went from cool to cold but hunting is slowing down as the rut comes to an end. Less deer is being seen but that didn't stop Jimmy who harvested a big eight pointer. Welcome to the Eight Point Club for the second time Jimmy.
Week 6
Hunting is really slowing now. The deer is moving less and I think members are getting a little weary, but Phil's guest harvested a nice fat doe. Congratulations!
Week 7
I think Jimmy is the only one hunting now. ( A true deer hunter!) Jimmy states that a few deer are still showing at the food plot but things are slow.
Week 8
Everyone is getting ready for Christmas and waiting in anticipation of the second rut.
